| The Red Arrows or to give them their official title
The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team are not a stand alone unit but they are
actually a functional part of the RAF Central Flying School. The Red Arrows fly
British Aerospace Hawk T.1 advanced jet trainers, and the team is based at RAF
Scampton in England. Pictured below is the Red Arrows unit badge. |

Red 1: Squadron Leader Dicky Patounas (Team Leader) Red 2: Flight Lieutenant Scott Morley Red 3: Flight Lieutenant Martin Higgins Red 4: Flight Lieutenant David Slow Red 5: Flight Lieutenant Jim Turner Red 6: Flight Lieutenant Dan Simmons (Synchro Leader) Red 7: Flight Lieutenant Simon Stevens (Synchro Two) Red 8: Flight Lieutenant Jez Griggs Red 9: Squadron Leader Dunc Mason (Squadron Executive Officer) Red 10: Flight Lieutenant Steve Underwood (Team's Road Manager) The Red Arrows only display with 9 aircraft, Red 10 is the spare aircraft in the case of an engineering problem while the Team is away from base, and it is flown by the Team's Road Manager.
