The Luftwaffe Tornado appearing at the 2004 Air Show belongs to Jagdbombergeschwader* 31 (JBG31) "Boelcke", based at Nörvenich near Cologne in Western Germany. This unit also supplied the Luftwaffe Tornado that appeared at the 2001, 2002 & 2003 Salthill Air Shows. (Links to pictures from previous Air Shows are included below)

The aicraft that appeared at the 2003 Air Show was called "Blue Lightning", and was specially painted to celebrate the unit's 45th Anniversary.
