Sikorsky S61N

Irish Air Corps Roundel

The Air Corps took delivery of a Sikorsky S61N in January 2003 for SAR duties at Sligo Airport and the S61N will be replacing the Air Corps Dauphin II based at Finner Camp, Co. Donegal. It is expected to be operational by June 2003.

The S61N will be operated by 301 Squadron "SAR Squadron", No.3 Operations Wing (formerly known as Helicopter Wing). Both unit badges are pictured below.
