The Royal Netherlands Air Force Solo Display PC-7 is painted in the standard Dutch elementary training aircraft high visibility colour scheme of yellow, red and white. During airshows the plane is equipped with two smoke generators to accentuate the display routine, making the show visually more attractive.

All the Pilatus PC-7 aircraft operated by the RNLAF belong to the 131 Elementaire Militaire Vlieger Opleidingen (EMVO)* Squadron. The 131 EMVO Squadron Badge is pictured below.

131 EMVO Sqn is based at Woensdrecht Air Base in the south of the Netherlands, and is responsible for the elementary pilot training for both the Air Force and Navy, the PC-7 has been used in this role since 1989. Fast jet pilot training is undertaken in the USA.

*EMVO = Elementary Military Pilot Training.
