Salthill Millennium Air Show - Souvenir Brochure - July 4th, 1999
The Irish Air Corps “Sliver Swallows”
Thanks for the Memories

Sadly for the first time in six years we will not have a display from the Irish Air Corps Aerobatics Team “The Silver Swallows”.  And by the time that you’ve read this, the last of the Fouga Magister jets will have retired from Air Corps service.  The Silver Swallows brought great pride and international recognition to the Air Corps.  In 1997 they won the Lockheed Martin Cannestra Trophy at the Royal International Air Tattoo which took place at RAF Fairford beating some of the most famous display teams in the world.  They also brought a great sense of pride and excitement to the huge crowds at The Salthill Air Show and we were very proud to be associated with them.  We wish to thank all of the Pilots who displayed at our Air Shows over the past six years and their ground crew who maintained them in such a wonderful condition.  We would also like to thank the Air Corps for all the wonderful help and support that they have given to us to put the Salthill Air Show where it is today.
