The 1999 Salthill Air Show has been cancelled as a tribute to the crew of four, in the Defence Forces Air Corps, who lost their lives this morning when their Dauphin crashed at Tramore, Co Waterford.  R.I.P.
Monday, June 21, 1999 (souvenir brochure)
A press reception was held at Davey's Locker to launch the 1999 Salthill Arishow.  At this reception the Airshow Souvenir Brochure was launched.  The proceeds from the sale of this souvenir brochure will be shared equally between Salthill Tourist Development Association and Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiology Foundation.

The most famous display team in the world, the Red Arrows have confirmed that they will be taking part in the 1999 Air Show.  Brian McGrath, the air show organiser, said that this is a dream come true for us, the Red Arrows displaying in what is the finest location for an AirShow in this country Galway Bay, its a great honour for Salthill and Galway. 
Also announced was a Russian YAK 52.
Saturday, February 27 1999 
Here is some more updates for the Air Show, The Irish Air Corps, The Garda Air Support Unit,The Sikorsky S61 Marine rescue helicopter from Shannon, Two US Army blackhawk helicopters and an ex Czech air force jet flown by Seamus O Ceallaigh from Cork are all confirmed for the 4th of July Show.
Saturday, 31 October, 1998
St Ivel's have just confirmed that they will be again sponsorning the St Ivel Utterly Butterly Barnstormers for the 99 Air Show they will also be bringing a flight simulator to Salthill which will be available to the public on Sat the 3rd and Sun the 4th of July it will be on the car park at Salthill.  Also confirmed is the Irish Navy.
