The 1998 Airshow 
July 1998
U.S.Air Force C141 Starlifter from the 514th operations group based at McGuire New Jersey Flown by Col Kim Mortensen. 

U.S Airforce F-15 Strike Eagles from the 494th Fighter Squadron (The Black Panthers) Based at Lakenheath in England. Flown by Capt Damsker and Capt Ruby. 

The French Air Force Alpha Jet from squadron from squadron 008 based at Cazaux Montmassan.  

St Ivel Utterly Butterly Barnstormers, with two 1940's Boeing Stearman bi-planes and two wing walkers. 

The Irish Air Corps Fouga Magister, CASA Maritime patrol aircraft, Alloutte Helicopter. 

Aer Arann Islander flown by Capt Paddy Robinson. 

Air Kilroe who fly (Jet Stream 31) daily to Manchester from Galway. 

The Irish Naval Service vessel LE ORLA. Under the command of Capt Hugh Tully. 

The Garda Air Support Unit Squirrell Helicopter. Under the command of Sgt Dermot Mann. 

The Irish Marine Rescue Helicopter S61N Sikorsky based at Shannon who before their slot time had to go to Donegal to rescue a diver with ther bends and bring him to the hospital at Galway, When the came to the Airshow they received a huge ovation from the crowd after the rescue. 

Aer Lingus who sent the first aircraft that they used for commercial operations on the Dublin to Bristol route, This aircraft was called the IOLAR. 

Also taking part in the Airshow was the Galway Lifeboat, the Aran Islands Lifeboat,The Civil Defence Boat 

Due to bad weather at their slot times the Royal Air Force Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft from Kinloss in Scotland, The U.S.Navy P3 Orion maritime patrol aircraft from Iceland and the Irish Army Parachute display team from the Curragh were unable to perform but hopefully we will have better weather next year on Sunday the 4th of July 1999...
